Archaeological finds dating back to the period between Prehistoric and early Medieval times
Under the direction of Andrea Pancotti, the Antiquities Department locates and offers archaeological finds dating back to the period between Prehistoric and early Medieval times, specialising in artefacts of the Greek, Etruscan, Italic, Roman, and Byzantine civilisations.
The department is concerned with the study, cataloguing, valuation and placement of archaeological finds on account for sale at auction and private sale in the Italian and international markets. Private sale is the preferred channel for high value items of particular historical and artistic interest.
The department also offers an expert report service specialising in archaeological items.
Andrea Pancotti, an archeologist specialised in Ancient Topography, is member of the Accademia Italiana di Studi Numismatici, and also editorial board member of the Bollettino della Unione Storia e Arte. He is also the author of numerous scientific publications in the historical and archaeological field.
