THE DEPARTMENT OF COINS & MEDALS

Under the direction of Andrea Pancotti, the department deals with collection coins and medals from the earliest items to those produced in modern times.
Particular attention is given to:
Greek Coins
Roman Coins
Byzantine Coins
Medieval Coins
Modern Coins
Important numismatic collections

The main role of Andrea Pancotti’s team is studying, cataloguing, valuation and placement of coins and medals on account both for sale at auction and private sale in the Italian and International markets.
Private sale is the preferred channel for high value items of particular historical and artistic importance.

In addiction to this, the department provides a scientific– technical consultancy service and the valuation of numismatic objects of interest employing the latest examination techniques and equipment.

At the department is always available a selection of coins and medals having successive price categories which may be purchased out of the auction.

Andrea Pancotti, is an archeologist specialised in the topography of ancient Italy, is member of the Accademia Italiana di Studi Numismatici, and also member of the “Bollettino dell’Unione Storia ed Arte” editorial committee. He is also the author of numerous scientific publications in the historical and archeological field.
